Placing the signature

Place the signature on the last page, the first page, or every page, at the bottom right, center, or left. The before and after previews show exactly where it lands.

For an uploaded signature, a PNG with a transparent background looks most natural, because it does not cover the line or text underneath.

Visual signature vs. digital signature

This adds an image of your signature, like signing a printed page. It is accepted for many everyday documents such as permission slips, quotes, and internal forms.

It is not a certificate-based digital signature and does not record who signed or when. For legal contracts that require verified e-signatures, use a dedicated e-signature service.

Common uses

Forms and permission slips
Sign and return a form without printing.
Quotes and invoices
Add a signature before sending to a client.
Lease and HR forms
Sign documents that accept a simple signature.
Every-page initials
Stamp a mark on every page of a document.

Questions about Sign PDF

Is this a legally binding e-sign workflow?
It stamps a visual signature. It does not collect certificate-based digital signatures or signer identity the way DocuSign does.
Does the PDF get uploaded?
No. The signature image is embedded with pdf-lib in the browser.
Is my signature stored?
No. It exists only in this browser tab and in the PDF you download.
Can I sign with my finger on a phone?
Yes. Draw on the signature pad with your finger or a stylus.
Can I use a photo of my signature?
Yes. Upload it with Upload signature image. A PNG with a transparent background looks most natural; a photo on white paper also works but shows a white box.
